ask

whatever you wish

Last week my sister Julie joined Candi and I for a run.  She was bubbling with excitement about her latest spiritual discipline; memorizing a whole chapter of the Bible.  It was awesome hearing her quote a whole chapter as we jogged a couple miles together.  I felt I was really hearing God's words as she spoke.  It made me wonder if memorizing a chapter should be my new experiment!

So here I am now, a week later, memorizing John 15.  Why am I choosing this chapter?  I just feel God leading me to it, can’t explain why or how I know.  I just know.  I’ve worked my way up to the portion where Jesus says, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given to you.”  That part really hits me; I focus in on it.  I finish meditating on John 15 and decide to open up my D-Group journal of Mark, and one scripture, Mark 11:24, covers the whole page and stares at me.  My mouth drops.  “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”     Yes.!  I love it when God does that!

I guess You want me to be praying more specifically and intentionally.  Okay.  I hear You.  I'm on it.
