bell prayer

Last night I challenged our D-Group kids to try a new experiment... the bell prayer.  Everytime the school bell rings to end and start a class, they take that as a reminder to connect with God with a short prayer.  It's something Sara did when she was in school, and now 150 kids have been challenged to give it a try.

Well, I can't expect them to do something I'm not willing to do myself.  But it's impossible to do the school bell prayer when you're not in school... or is it?  Alecia thought she could figure out a way to make my phone vibrate on the hour (since I am technically challenged and useless at using my own phone).  Did it work?  Oh yeah.

At exactly 9am my phone vibrates.  I assume it's a phone call until I see "bell prayer" on the phone screen.  I smile, tilt back my head, lift my hands up, and breathe deeply, inviting the Spirit to fill every part of me.

A minute later I'm back to the same work, but feel like a different person.

An hour later my phone gently prods me back to prayer again.

I am surprised how fast I forget about God's presence in the course of an hour.  But atleast for a few moments every hour, all day long I am pausing to pour out my heart to God.
