Better with age!

It seems that moments turn to days and days to years.  Time slowly slips by seemingly unnoticed.  Then one day you wake up and you have gray hair, wrinkles, and the force of gravity takes a definite toll on our bodies!!  I looked in the mirror the other day and suddenly realized just how old I really am!  At this time in our lives our self esteem can bottom out and our view of ourselves really takes a hit.  Why is it that so many other things like cheese, wine, and beef get better when they "age"? I personally think that we too, get better with age!  I love to hear my grandmother laugh, I love to hear her talk about the way things used to be, and I love the way the corners of her eyes wrinkle when she smiles!  Her wisdom is beyond words, her heart is soft to the things of God, and she still has the attitude that old is just a state of mind!  I think we could all do well to learn that just because we may look a little different and we don't seem to move as fast as we used to...we are still valuable. The Lord God Almighty finds us beautiful.  He loves us.  And, that alone makes us far more precious than rubies.  So, look in the mirror today and tell yourself...I belong to THE KING, and for that reason alone (not to mention a thousand other reasons!) I AM SPECIAL!  Find your self-esteem in Him, and forget about the plastic surgeon!  You are loved!

Beautifully said. I struggle with looking older not necessary growing older. Sorta goes alone with the JFJ study Me, myself and lies.

Sat with a 93-year old lady today that I never would have guessed was that old. What a privilege to learn from these older saints. I remember the crisis I went through at 30--thinking my life didn't amount to anything. Now almost 40 years later, I find myself taking inventory. I pray my life has encouraged someone to become more like Jesus.

This is so true!! Funny thing though is that it's not just as we age, but in general..

Women now a days are so caught up in comparing themselves to what ever is out there.. The stereo-type that is laid out for women and young girls is horrible.. God created us all in HIS image! We are beautiful!! Thanks foy this!!

You are special Crystal and might I add, one hot Mama!!! =)

I saw you this morning behind that keyboard in the pink jacket and thought how wonderful you looked! Definitely a good color on you. We all need the reminder that God loves us and that our self-esteem is found in Him. I am so thankful for my relationship with God, and for those reminders of His love.

When you were at PBFCOG a few weeks ago & sang it really blessed my heart. Though I don't get to see you often I have watched you age BEAUTIFULLY through the years. Know that you are a blessing to all that you come in contact with. Thank you for allowing God to work through you.

I've told you before about my conversationwith Memommie but maybe it's worth sharing again. Memommie and I were sitting in the ICU waiting room when Granddaddy was so ill. It happened to be the year that I Was turning 50. I told Memommie that I couldn't believe that I was turning 50 and she replied,"I never thought a thing about my age until I turned 80 and I thought,Hum...I'm getting old!" I hope I can always be that way! I think it is just a state of mind. You are a beautiful lady inside and out and you are a precious treasure! I love you much much!! Mom
