Monday October 9th 7:45am - St. Joseph Campus
Our fall color tour to the beautiful port city of Muskegon is planned for Monday, October 9. The church bus will leave our St. Joseph campus at 7:45am and we do plan a rest stop on the way. We will visit two Queen Anne victorian homes of lumber barons Charles Hackley and Thomas Hume, followed by a Fire Barn museum and the Schonick house of the Depression era. Lunch will be at Henessey’s restaurant (order on your own, approximate cost: $10). After lunch, we’ll see vintage machinery in operation at the Muskegon Heritage museum, and we’ll take a scenic drive to the White River lighthouse. The museum will be closed, but we can walk around the lighthouse and get a great view of Lake Michigan. A museum guide will be there to answer our questions and tell the stories of the lighthouse. On our way home, we will stop for Sherman’s ice cream. Cost for this fun trip is just $20/person. Register no later than Friday, September 29.
