do hard things

Every weekday morning I have some kind of early before school meeting (SPEED prayer group, my breakfast guys group, and basketball). So it’s easy to find an excuse to skip my early morning quiet time with God. But this week, so far, I have gotten myself back on track.

God, will You reward me by showing me some amazing miraculously perfect scripture?

It doesn’t happen on Monday or Tuesday morning. But it feels good to be faithful anyway.

Wednesday morning is my time to meet with Colin, Zach, and Dylan. I’ve been reading a book called, "Do Hard Things", and I’m excited to share the idea with the guys. Before heading out the door to meet them, I sit on the couch and ask God to give me a scripture; something meaningful that will apply to life right now.

Philippians 4:13   You want me to read Philippians 4:13? Yes. Okay.

The reference is familiar. I’m sure it’s one I memorized once, but I can’t recall it now. I am filled with anticipation as I open my Bible to look.

I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength.

Yes! It’s perfect. God confirms what I wanted to share with the guys this morning. Do hard things!  But remember how you are enabled to accomplish those hard things!  I can do everything, even hard things, through Christ who gives me strength!  Through Christ!

Go! Do hard things!

That is my life verse! I've depended on it heavily lately as I've been trying to break my addiction to food...you know, "eat to live, not live to eat!" God's Word is always faithful!
