even more foolish

Candi and I start the day on the living room couch again; I continue reading David’s story in 2 Samuel. He brings the ark of the covenant into Jerusalem with great celebration, dancing and leaping in praise of God. His wife thinks it is disgraceful for the King to act so undignified, and tells him so with disgust in her voice. How does David react to her rebuke?

"I was dancing before the Lord. I am willing to act like a fool in order to show my joy in the Lord. Yes, and I am willing to look even more foolish than this."

Ah yes, so this is where David Crowder was inspired with his song, "Undignified"

A short time later I am interrupted with a stressful and disappointing message. Rather than allow the negativity of the situation to take hold, I decide to respond as David would; with dancing. And as I dance before the Lord I am given proper perspective of my problem. This insignificant bump in the road disappears, and all I know is joy.

It's one thing to dance while hidden away in my basement.  Am I willing to look even more foolish?

I'm constantly amazed at your insights Chris, but I shouldn't be. What a gift you have.

Chris, all of YOUR dancing is undignified. That's why it's so special to Him. Keep dancing bro.
