First Church of God

I woke up with names of football players running through my mind.  This fantasy football thing is fun.  Owning my own team; trading players, picking up free agents, making substitutions, it's all so rediculously addictive.  Shoot, I’ve lost every game, and it’s still fun.

But now I’m a bit concerned.  When you start dreaming about it, you have to wonder…is this consuming me?

Then in my quiet time I read Hebrews 12, verse 2…  Fix your eyes on Jesus.  But my wide receiver just broke his leg Sunday and I need to… fix your eyes on Jesus.  Yes, yes, I need to fix my eyes on Jesus.   Continue reading.

Verse 29…  Worship God with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.  Our God is a consuming fire!  Are you feeling warm? 

It sure is easy to let unimportant things consume me at times.

Lord, help me to fix my eyes on You,

    to worship you with awe and wonder,

    to be consumed with thoughts of You!
