Benton Harbor Street Ministry GED Program
The GED Program is in need of some volunteers. Opportunities to serve are helping teachers to grade papers, assisting with clerical work, and tutoring students as they work on their GED certificates. The Street Ministry is open M-Th, 9am-12:30pm and flexible volunteer hours are available. This experience will be richly rewarding for those who work alongside individuals who are trying to better themselves through education. First Church Community Care Team
The newly formed First Church Community Care Team is offering you an opportunity to come and explore the question "What does God expect of me?" You are invited to join us for soup and a book discussion on Sunday, November 7, from 5-7pm. We will be discussing the book, The Hole in Our Gospel, by Richard Sterns. This book is the compelling true story of a corporate CEO who set apart worldly success for something far more significant, and discovered the full power of the gospel of Jesus Christ to change his life. TAKIN' IT TO THE STREETS Get-togethers showing God's love to our community in fun-filled ways. Some events have included a gas buy-down at a local gas station, raking leaves for neighbors, distributing water and glow necklaces during area festivals, a community dog wash, block parties in various neighbohoods, painting curbs for the local school district and delivering goodies to community emergency service workers.

MOSAIC RESALE STORE Offers a full-retail shopping experience for neighbors in need as well as the trendy bargain shopper. Current needs are: help with inventory, sales and the kids play area.

McCORD BACK-TO-SCHOOL BLOCK PARTY We are hosting the 3rd annual Back-to-School block party for the students, families and neighbors of McCord Elementary School on September 11, 2010. Many volunteers are needed for this event. If you would like to help, please sign up! |

BENTON HARBOR SOUP KITCHEN is an independent non-profit corporation that serves a healthy noon-time meal every day of the year. It is staffed by volunteers from churches, clubs, businesses and schools who prepare and serve the meals.
