Today was David's day off and we made our way to Indiana to look for Christmas presents. We ended up at Gino's East for lunch. For those of you that don't know, Gino's is a pizzaria made famous in the downtown Chicago area fo their deep dish pizza. We sat down to order. I wanted a sandwich and David wanted the pizza...until our waitress told us that it would take 40 minutes to make the pizza...yes, I said 40 minutes. It was 11 a.m. and there were literally 4 other customers in the restaraunt. Needless to say, we were shocked that it would take so long. David decided to get a sandwich too so we could be done and out of there to do some more shopping. Well, long story short, our food arrived at our table after a 35 minute wait. Ugh!!! David could have ordered the pizza and we would have only had to wait 5 more minutes than we waited for our boring burgers and fries! Our impatience got the best of us and we missed out on the deep dish pizza! And, in the end we were no better off than we would have been in the beginning!
I think that we do this in life sometimes. We get impatient, and take things into our own hands. Where does that get us? I don't know about you, but I have decided that it is TOTALLY worth it to be patient and wait on the Lord to give us what He thinks is best! Remember He knows the plans He has for us. Are you in a rush? Maybe, its time to slow down. The BEST is yet to come!
Next visit to Gino's...Pizza will be ordered and patiently waited for!
