Thanksgiving Weekend | The Little Drumer Boy
A special KidZone event will be happening on Thanksgiving weekend during all services. Both KidZone and Little KidZone will combine as we watch and experience a timeless tale of hope, love and forgiveness through the eyes of The Little Drummer Boy. Moms and Dads are welcome!
1st-5th Grade
KidZone is available during all weekend services!
In KidZone, we make it our goal each week to create an experience that is the truly the ‘best hour' in a kids week! In everything we share with your kids we stress “growing up the right way” with Jesus as our example; "And Jesus GREW in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man." Luke 2:52 The curriculum we use is called 252Basic and is built around three Basic Truths every child should embrace according to what Jesus modeled in Luke 2:52.
The THREE BASIC TRUTHS that we learn
- I can trust GOD no matter what
- I need to make the WISE choice
- I should treat OTHERS the way I want to be treated
Each Basic Truth is amplified by a weekly key concept and systematically taught over a three-year track. The curriculum includes 150 Bible stories and is based on a Core Virtue and Memory Verse as the framework for each month.
It all begins in the
KidZone Club House. Kids hang out together in this space designed for fun and friendship.
The KidZone Club House opens 20 minutes before service begins, so parents have plenty of time to get some coffee and do some visiting yourselves before heading off to service. A variety of games and activities are available to help connect the kids to other caring adults and small group leaders in their lives.
Then the Club House comes to life. During this Large Group time, kids participate in interactive games, a meaningful time of worship, and experience the zany storytelling antics of the KidZone Club Team. Club meetings are fun, engaging, exciting and often crazy! One thing is for sure, everyone in the Club House loves God and seeks to relay the Love of Christ to the kids through powerful stories from the Bible.
Finally, the kids exit the
Kid Zone Club House to go to their Small Groups. This is time for building relationships and for unpacking the monthly virtue through discussion, activities and prayer. Each of these activities is centered on “the Bottom Line” of the Bible story for the week. You will find the Bottom Line along with the monthly virtue definition and the Bible verse on your child’s take home paper which we call the Refrigerator Door.
