When I accepted a position in sales with a local company, I began working for my own recognition, but ended working each day for the praise and glory of God. It was at this company God provided First Church ‘bridge builders.’ Although I didn’t know what this meant at the time, I later realized it was God’s plan for me to be there.
The bridge builders God sent my way seemed to have such joy and peace in their lives. It was something that I wanted to have for myself. They honored God by their way of living; it was something very obvious to me. They were so kind and loving to me; always encouraging me in work and life. They were like God’s coaches.
Through my coworkers’ invitation and enthusiasm, I attended a Just for Joy kick-off meeting. It was amazing. I came alone but never felt alone as they sought me out to sit with them. It has changed my life forever.
I’m now in my fourth year in Just for Joy. There is now way to explain my excitement in studying God’s Word and living it out. The friends I’ve made and the relationship I work on everyday with the Lord is an incomparable joy for me. With God at my side, I am excited about helping build bridges to other people.
