John chapter four has captured my attention this week. Jesus reaches out to this Samaritan woman at the well. He connects with her by asking for a drink, and ends up offering her living water.
If you would just ask me, I would give you living water. Water that truly satisifies.
Whats going on in her head when she hears those words? I sure am tired of coming back to the well over and over again, drinking but never satisfied. Thinking it will quench my thirst, only to discover it leaves my mouth dry and wanting again. Why do we invest so much in things that offer so little?
Taste and see.
An idea for a new experiment... I drink water all day long, starting with a full pitcher on my desk every morning. So today I will make drinking water a spiritual experience. I will drink water prayerfully, inviting Jesus to fill me with his living water. Yes! I'm pumped (pun intended)!
How many drinks a day? How many reminders to pray? I look forward to these intentional moments to taste and see.
