It's Wednesday morning and there's a lot to do. The temptation to dive right in to work is great; but instead I choose to ruthlessly elimnate hurry with a run on the beach.
Even here at the beach with waves crashing, wind blowing, and God reminders all around... hurry still has it's hold on me. I want to run, but I also want this beach glass, and the tension creates a panicky, rushed, hurried feeling. Let it go. Yes.
I walk. And I talk to Abba Father.
My heart goes out to the D-Group kids that will come together tonight. With every piece I pick up a prayer is offered up for them. Lord, will you give me a piece of glass for every person coming to D-Groups? Yes, I will.
It's as if the beach glass ferry came during the night and sprinkled it on the sand. It's intense And so are my prayers for all the D-Group kids and leaders. Lord, You are going to do something awesome tonight aren't You? Yes, I am. My prayers continue.
My shorts, with pockets bulging, would literally fall off if I were not holding them up with one hand while picking up glass with the other. I can not fit one more piece in either pocket. The thought hits me, there's more glass here than the 150 people coming to D-Groups tonight. A lot more. Yes, that's because many people will be impacted tonight, and those people will impact others. This glass represents not only the D-Group kids, but their friends, families, and others they will influence because of what I will do in their lives!
Amazing pieces! All kinds of colors, even a red one. All kinds of shapes, the most interesting ever. And so much, more than I have ever gathered... 661 pieces. To me, each one is a promise of changed lives to come.
