First Church of God

I was challenged just now by a friend, simply by finding out what God is doing in her life.  She is hearing the voice of God so strong and clear.  And it makes me realize that I am not.  At times I do, but so much of the time I am distracted, allowing clutter to gather around me like white noise.  It drowns out the quiet whisper of God.

“It’s been a long journey”, she says to me.  After long periods of intentional pursuit of God, she is now experiencing one incredible break through after another.  She is overcoming the obstacles that have kept God at a distance.

And it all started with pain.  She thought she was living life to the full until her pain revealed her lack of life.  The things she thought brought meaning melted away.  Propelled by pain, she moved forward in her search.  Now she is discovering real life, as her intimacy with God deepens.

Lord, I sure have a lot of friends in crisis right now; experiencing the kind of pain that causes you to question.  May they be propelled by pain into your arms, and find life there.   

I want this deeper place of life with You too Father, preferably without the pain.
