For the first time in months, I am running outside. It’s not Grand Mere for sure; None of the sights, sounds, and smells that I am used to. Instead of dirt trails through woods and lakes, I’m running on concrete sidewalks winding their way through landscaped shrubbery and man-made ponds. But the sun shines on my face and a warm wind blows. I’ll take it, joyfully.
Lord, I have missed our runs together. Something feels right again. Prayer comes so naturally when I run with signs of Your creation around me. It’s more than just running for exercise; I feel like I am running after You, or towards You, and with You. I think of that scripture… “I run in such a way as to win the prize.” Being in Your presence is my prize.
