My pastor brought some great teaching a few days ago at church. I heard it twice actually. He quoted John Ortberg in his message. Three words from that quote continue to stay in the front of my thinking. Even now, two days later, they continue to impact what I do. Those three words are...
"ruthlessly eliminate hurry"
Candi and I arrive at work together this morning, knowing that we have about 12 hours of work to accomplish in half that time. It's tempting to allow the attitude of "hurry" to take over. But I will attack that attitude with a ruthlessness, and destroy it right now at the start of this day, before it takes root in my soul.
I walk across the hall to Candi's office. We join hands to pause and pray.
