Our theme this weekend at Warner Camp is "sanctuary". We are all about creating space for God, as we actually build special sanctuary spaces with candles, altars, and worship stations. We also build space in our souls, opening wide our hearts to God, inviting Him to enter into us so that we become a sanctuary.
We’re asked to consider this crucial question… "How do you make space in your life for God?" We all have different ways that work well. Some love to be out in nature, others like a cozy spot inside. Some are spontaneous, and others need structure. We get a variety of opportunities to experience sanctuary in different ways this weekend.
The sun is shining in my face as we walk through the woods. We’re spaced out from each other, so it feels like I am alone with God. No agenda. No destination. Just a half hour to walk and talk with my Abba Father.
Now it’s night time, and we gather together in the Tabernacle. Candles flicker through stained glass. All around me are people I love and care for. People I respect. People who love God with a passion. We worship. We cry out to God in song...
"You've stolen my heart, yes You have! Washed away the stains, broke away the chains, yes You have!"
"So take my heart and form it, take my mind transform it, take my will conform it to Yours."
"Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary..."
