A perfect day for gardening; cool and cloudy with a misty drizzle. I dig up plants, split them and tranplant them to new spots, careful to mix the right amount of top soil, peat moss, and manure. There is something about partnering with God to make things grow that just feels right.
Plants grow so slow; if I were to sit and stare I would not notice the change. Yet it's encouraging to look at things planted last year, to see how far along they have come. Lord, help me remember this, when I get impatient about my own spiritual growth.
Questions I ponder... Am I adding the right things to my soil mixture? Am I doing all I can to grow? How am I going to get this dirt out of my finger nails?
Three hours in the dirt, just me and God and these plants. Pure enjoyment.
