I've been in West Virginia now for 6 days, and it amazing to me how close you can feel with people so quickly. It shouldn't surprise me. We have worshipped and shared and discussed at a deep spiritual level. We've also laughed and played and shared meals together. Probably the most awesome spiritual discipline has been to pray for people. God has certainly directed me to reach out to certain people, and we've really clicked and connected. It was sad to say good bye today.
Now I sit in Yeager Airport in Charleston, staring out at a runway being torn apart by a huge crane. It seems like a living thing, it's arm an extension of the operators own body; digging, smashing and loading concrete onto dump trucks. I wonder where they are taking all those broken pieces. It's been 6 days of diggin at camp, trying to break through the concrete of some hard hearts. It's painful to be torn apart, but healing can come when hurt comes to the surface. God has been so good this week. I feel so honored to have spent this week here in West Virginia with my new friends.
