the color purple

I awake to no migraine.  No pain at all.  Relief.  A grateful heart.

Rob and Adam lead us to a lower elevation, giving us a chance to adjust to the altitude.  I feel myself fully letting go of distractions as I hike with these brothers through these mountains.  Peace.  Beauty.  Breathtaking.  All my anxious thoughts I let go.

After a long day of hiking we arrive at Hart Lake and find a perfect spot to set up camp.  It's time for a life story.  One person in our group gets 11 minutes to talk about his life, then we ask questions.  Then comes the crazy part; our guides ask us to just silently open our ears and eyes to God, to hear his voice and see his vision.  "Ask God to give you words, pictures, or visions to share.  What does God want to say to this person?"  Can this happen?  Can I really hear from God?  Will he speak to me?  Is this my own thought, or did it really come from God?  How can I know?

After our second day of life stories, of looking and listening for God, we are beginning to think that we can hear from Him.  It's beautiful, it's affirming, it's confirming.  Three different guys all see the color purple.  A strange coincidence, or is God truly speaking to us through visions of colors?

I was almost in tears after your last post, thinking of you in such extreme pain and your godly son praying over you. I'm so thankful for His healing touch.
