the heights

Isaiah speaks powerful prophetic words to the people of his day, and they are still hitting hard for me right now. Chapter 58 flows like words right from the mouth of God…

Do you really think religious activity is what I desire from you? Stop doing your religious duties, and start doing what is truly pleasing. Loose the chains of injustice. Set the oppressed free. Share food with the hungry. Provide shelter to the wanderer. Clothe the naked. If you do this, your light will rise in the darkness. I will call you to ride on the heights of the land.

Now two words especially pop out at me; “the heights”. Has God called us to ride on the heights of the land in Benton Heights? Is this one place we are being called to loose chains, free the oppressed, and feed the hungry?  I think we are on the right track!

Isaiah 58:5-8, and the "heights" part is verse 14
version? i was writing what I remembered from reading it. It's not verbatum, but just the impression I was left with and the words that stuck in my mind after reading the chapter.
But now I am curious what the "message" version might say.
