I’ve decided to keep this challenge going for making people smile. But I've got a cold or something, so I’m not in the mood to smile, let alone make others smile. It's not a successful day… until now. At exactly 8:07pm I announce to 75 middle school kids that waiting for them in the next room is all the makings for ice cream sundaes. Instant smiles on 75 faces. Mission accomplished!
But the best part of the night comes at an unexpected moment. The party is over, everyone is gone, and all is cleaned up and put away. I walk down the green covered ramp, guitar case in my right hand and car keys ready in my left. I just want to go home; but I discover two girls still waiting for rides, so I can’t leave yet. Aaron waits with me as we sit on the curb near the end of the ramp. I pull out my guitar to pass the time while we wait. The four of us end up having the sweetest time together singing and talking. What began as a bother becomes the highlight of the night for me. Maddi and Lauren turn out to be the biggest blessing of my day. They bring a smile to my face.
