to save a life

I was pleased, impressed, and moved by the movie “To Save A Life”.  Okay, they tried to take on every possible issue confronting teens today, leaving no themes to cover in a sequel.  But WOW, what a powerful movie with a message that is sure to impact lives.  It continues to be the topic of conversation through dinner and on our way home.

As we drive home I feel inspired to make a difference, to be more aware of the people around me, to save a life.

Pulling into the driveway, my eyes are drawn to my neighbor’s brightly lit living room.  I am reminded to pray for them, as well as my other neighbors; something I have forgotten to do lately.  The movie has definitely sensitized me to that, and left me with a deeper desire to make a difference in the lives of those around me.

Ben & I went to see the movie & I was deeply moved. My thought was--we are not an island to ourselves; everything we do & say influences someone. Being close to someone who's attempted suicide makes one evaluate actions & words more carefully. God help me to never be the one to "pull the trigger."
