Stephen Ministers We're looking for people who can walk alongside someone going through a crisis, whether it's job loss, divorce, loss of a loved one.
Video Team Come join an exciting team of volunteers that capture some of the awesome things going on in the life of our church. We'll take those with an array of technical skills from shooting and editing video to a beginner that just wants to learn.
GRAPHIC DESIGNERS At First Church we are always creating artwork and layouts for print for our various campuses and ministries. If you have experience designing in Adobe, use your God-given abilities to help further your church!
SMART Tutor - Hull International Academy Become a tutor through the Benton Harbor SMART Tutor program, which is a customized tutor program focused on students in grades 1-8. Tutors should value education and enjoy working with kids, other than that, no special skills are needed. Training will be provided. Benton Harbor students who have a tutor increasing their reading by 2.3 grade levels. Only 1 hour per week, and hours are flexible between 8:30-4:00. Requires background check.
CERTIFIED AUTO MECHANIC, Cars Ministry - We are seeking certified auto mechanics to help work on donated vehicles one weekend a month. By volunteering with the cars ministry you will be helping provide individuals in need with much needed transportation. Commitment length: 1 year, 1 weekend a month. Flexible schedule.
JOBS FOR LIFE MENTOR, We are looking for people interested in mentoring job trainees at the Jobs for Life program at Cafe Mosaic in Benton Harbor. Jobs for Life teaches work skills to the unemployed.
Sunday School Teachers We're looking for people who love kids and love to be with kids to help in Kidzone from September-May.
Children's Ministry Worship Leader (All campuses, all weekend services) This person will lead children in worship during service hours. Must enjoy providing lively worship and working with kids. It is not necessary to play an instrument. If possible, children's worship team practice on Wednesday from 6-6:30 PM. Schedule is flexible. Commitment length: Sept - June.
Puppet Troop Puppeteers The Mini Messengers puppet troop seeks some willing hands (bring the rest of your body, too). We practice on Wednesdays, 4:30-6pm, at our St. Joseph campus whenever KidZone WOW meets. Volunteers need only be 12 and up and willing to share the love of Christ to the children.
D-Group Leader (St. Joe: Wed 6:15 PM) This person invests in and leads a small group of either middle school boys or girls. Lesson materials and discussion questions are provided. We meet every Wednesday night from 6:15-8:15. Commitment length: Sept - June.
Tribe Leader (St. Joe: Sun 6 PM) This person invests in and leads a small group of either high school boys or girls. Lesson materials and discussion questions are provided. We meet every Sunday night 6:00-8:30pm. Commitment length: Sept - June.
Cafe Monitor (St. Joe: Wed 6 PM) Wednesday nights we need an adult to supervise the cafe area while leaders are in a meeting and hanging out with students from 6-6:45pm. This will involve running snacks, clean-up and being a present adult. Commitment: Once/month or every week... whatever your availability.
Summer Kidzone Volunteer No We're looking to give our school-year teachers a break for the summer. No prep, just a willing heart and a love for kids. Arrive 15 minutes before Sunday service begins and check-in with the Little KidZone leader. Be extra hands in the class and help the leader work with the kids.
Info Hub Volunteer This person will help to staff the Info Hub in the Gathering Area. You will answer questions and get people signed-up for various events and service opportunities. Must enjoy working with people. Commitment length: 6 months, about one service per month. ,
Online Campus Team We're looking for web and media savvy volunteers that want to help bring church to those who cannot make it to one of our physical campuses. We're launching a web campus in 2016 but we're already testing and looking for volunteers to fill a number of roles on Sunday mornings.
Children's Ministry Guest Services This person will be responsible for welcoming new families by explaining the check-in process and walking them to the classrooms. Duties also include turning on and working the computer check-in and troubleshooting check-in problems as needed. Must enjoy greeting and making people feel welcome. Commitment length Sept-June, 45 minutes per weekend.
Security (All Campuses, Sunday, Wed) This person maintains the safety and security of children throughout the KidZone area by walking around and keeping a watchful eye. No special skills required. Security personnel are needed at all campuses for all services, 1.5 hours per week. Commitment length: 6 months, flexible schedule.
Card Sender - Card Ministry Do you enjoy receiving cards for all the many occasions we experience? The enjoyment is also in the sending! In the Card Ministry, we send cards to those in our church family experiencing failing health, loss of a loved one (etc.).
Computer Tech Operator This person is in charge of running media for Sunday service. Duties include operation of lyrics during rehearsal and worship time, choosing creative background media for song selections, and changing slides during the sermon portion of the service. You must have a basic understanding of computers, familiarity with Mac operating system and willingness to learn tech systems. Commitment length: 6 month minimum, 1-2 services a month.
Usher (St. Joe: 9:30AM & 11 AM service) This person is in charge of greeting and seating visitors on their way in to Sunday service. This person also helps with collecting the offering.This person is the first face visitors see when they walk in to First Church and must be comfortable being friendly and accommodating with guests. Commitment Length: 6 month minimum, 1 or 2 services each month. Service: 11am, St. Joe campus.
Audio Tech Operator This person is in charge of running the sound/audio board for our Sunday service in one of our venues. Former audio mixing experience is recommended but not necessary. Commitment length: 6 month minimum, 1-2 services a month. If interested, contact
