Warm Winter's Evening!

Okay!  So, last night was Warm Winter's Evening at LMC and it was amazing!  For those of you that don't know, this is an evening that our Women's Ministry sponsors at the Mendel Center, at Lake Michigan College.  We have some fun, food, and fellowship along with a great speaker for the evening.  This year we had Jan Silvious, who is the author of "Foolproofing Your Life" and "Big Girls Don't Wine"!  There were close to 800 women there for the evening festivities and our theme was "Girlfriends...Gifts From God"!  My Mom and Dad came in for the weekend so that my Mom could attend WWE with me.  Mom and I came home after WWE "gushing" about what an awesome night it was and what a great job Jan did. I told my Dad what the theme was and he laughed a little...you know like a "Man" thinking "us women" are silly. Then, he looked at David and said "Can you imagine a bunch of men getting together having dinner with the theme..."Boyfriends...Gifts from God"!  Well, he made the point that most of us are all well aware of...men and women are wired up differently!

Women are more emotional beings, with a greater desire for friendship...close friendship... than Men. We enjoy shopping together, laughing together, crying together, doing crafts together, having slumber parties, and asking each other what we are wearing out that night!  Men, well you guys like reading the paper, hunting and gathering, conquering and plundering!  And, I guess that is what makes us so perfect for one another.  What we, as women, lack you possess!  And, what you guys fail to see, we girls see for you!  Isn't it amazing how the Lord created us!

But, men!...Women also have a need for friends!  As Jan said last night, women need friendships!  We need to connect on a different level, than you can provide, with other women that God places in our lives to be our "friends"!  So, today I want to just take a minute to say how much I appreciate the women God has placed in my life to be my friends!  God has given me so many great friends over the years and I am thankful for all of them!

(My Honey...David, with the GPS his parents got him for Christmas!)

I am not only thankful for the friendships I have, I am also thankful for the man God put in my life to complete me!  I am blessed to have a FABULOUS husband named David and I could not imagine my life without him!  God created us with a need for relationships and whether it is within the realm of friendships, marriage, family, and/or a love relationship with Jesus we must have this in our lives!  I pray that you will take the time to thank God for the relationships you have!  Also, if you do not have a relationship with Jesus I know He misses you!  Find your way to Him and you will be surprised at the fulfillment His presences will bring!  And, if you need help knowing exactly how to begin, comment below and we will help you get there!

I LOVE the fact that you posted David with a GPS! How funny is that! Bob just had to get one when we went to Mackinaw. Not sure if the trip was planned around that or not! LOL

WWE was great! Another thing men- or in this case, a soon to be man- my son Jon said, "Why do you girls call it "WWE"? That sounds like a wrestling match!" Boys.

Very well said, Crystal. That night really did show me the importance of having godly women in my life. Women that I can run to and turn to for anything. I have been burned too mnay times and my trust level was way off, but Jan's message proved that there is a power in the bond that us girls can have! Since then, I have really begun focusing on my relationships, esp. in my Life Group! That's the best place to start! She gave me hope again!
