When the storm hit last night my bedroom window, inches from my head, was wide open. So, yeah, it woke me up. But I do love a good thunder storm.
Now it's morning, and magically the sky has cleared and the birds are chirping. A morning like this calls for a run on the beach. In the back of my mind I’m thinking about the possibility of beach glass. Storms will often leave a lot; and such is the case today. It’s incredible the amount of glass I see.
“While branches that do bear fruit, he prunes so that they will be even more fruitful”. For some reason all this beach glass reminds me of that scripture. But then, everything lately reminds me of that scripture.
I feel God’s presence in such a powerful way this morning, not distracted at all by the excitement of this jack pot of glass. I am engaged with God in deep discussion. He gives me definate direction on some important issues. I love it when God speaks clearly.
As I finish my run the sun is finally clearing the dunes, lighting up the beach in a few spots. I turn toward the trail to leave, but my eye is attracted back to something on the beach. The sun sparkles off one last piece of glass; a rare red color that seems like a special little gift from God.
Back home I count out 236 pieces. Oh yeah. Every day should start this way.
