Ever wondered why we do what we do in worship?  Check out the worship arts philosophy document created by Pastor Ryan that goes into detail about the theological and philosophical reasons that guide the worship planning at First Church. First Church Philosophy of Worship.pdf

There are many ways to be involved with and serve in worship arts at First Church.  If you are interested in serving in one of these areas, contact Pastor Ryan or click on "sign me up".

Choir
The choir introduces the congregation to modern worship songs, traditional choir anthems, as well as weekly assists in leading worship during our 9:30am worship hour.  This group periodically joins in worship at the 6:00pm and 11:00am worship hours and plays an important role in Christmas Eve, Easter, and other special worship events throughout the year.  (sign me up)

Musicians
The members of this group serve on a rotating basis.  Guitar, bass, drums, and keys/piano are routinely used in each of our three weekend worship services. Symphonic instruments are also desired. (sign me up)

Vocalists
The vocalists on the worship team serve on a rotating basis, assisting in leading the singing aspect of the worship services.  This is an auditioned group with knowledge of vocal parts expected. (sign me up)

Communion Preparation
This team is involved in the preparation of the elements used during communion for our weekend worship services and special worship events throughout the year. (sign me up)

Audio/Visual Technicians
This group provides audio, lighting and media support for our worship services and church events.  Audio/Visual techs are always in demand and are vitally important to the worship arts ministry at First Church.  Those interested in this ministry should possess a trainable mind and spirit and be a team player. (sign me up)

Ushers
Several teams of ushers throughout our weekend services assist in helping worshipers find a seat, give directions to guests, receive the offering, and pass out the information packets. This group serves, along with the greeters, welcoming regular attendees and guests into worship. (sign me up)
