House is a community of
people in their twenties (give or take a year or two) seeking deeper relationships than those
offered by today's Facebook culture. We're looking for real friendship,
genuine community, and, like everyone, a place to belong. We want to
matter. We want to have a purpose. For us that purpose is found in
Jesus and the path he's laid for us. That doesn't mean we have all the
answers – far from it. But we have a place to ask those tough questions
and not be judged, a place to spill our guts and be comforted, a place
where people care enough to help us walk that path.
What it looks like:
House Groups. House meets on Tuesday evenings at 7:00. We're currently working through the book of Luke, one chapter per week. During the summer, we meet at the south end of Silver Beach. During the cooler months, we split up into several smaller House Groups, meet in homes, and sometimes share a meal
together.
Block Party. On the first Tuesday of each month all of the House groups gather together for Block Party. Block Party usually happens at the Music Box (1101 Broad Street in St. Joe) at 7:00. Each month is a little different and may or may not include live original music, short films, sharing a simple meal, acoustic or full-band worship, and great discussions on a variety of topics. Block Party is a great way to meet new people and get plugged into a House group.
Serving. Jesus calls us to not
just love our neighbors, but to provide for those who are in need.
Whether it's Habitat for Humanity here in town or the House of Blessings in Haiti, we try to show Christ's love to our world in a practical way.
Trips. We like to get away, cut lose,
live a little. It might be a day trip to Chicago or a weekend of
camping and canoeing. Some trips are planned, others are spontaneous. All are
a great way to connect with and meet new people.
