QUARTERLIFE is a community of
people in their twenties seeking deeper relationships than those
offered by today's Facebook culture. We're looking for real friendship,
genuine community, and, like everyone, a place to belong. We want to
matter. We want to have a purpose. For us that purpose is found in
Jesus and the path he's laid for us. That doesn't mean we have all the
answers – far from it. But we have a place to ask those tough questions
and not be judged, a place to spill our guts and be comforted, a place
where people care enough to help us walk that path.
What it looks like:
HOUSE GROUPS. Weekly gatherings of people
our age (18-29). We meet in someone's house and sometimes share a meal
together. It's a time to ask the tough questions, study the Bible
together, and try to figure out what it means for our lives. We divide
loosely into College, Post-college, and Couples groups.
WORSHIP. As a part of the larger
community of First Church, we emphasize the importance of worshiping
together at the weekend services. Quarterlife also meets periodically
throughout the year with other area young adults to worship together.
SERVING. Jesus called on us to not
just love our neighbors, but to provide for those who are in need.
Teaming with community programs such as Habitat for Humanity, we try to
live out that command.
TRIPS. We like to get away, cut lose,
live a little. It might be a day trip to Chicago or a weekend of
camping and canoeing. Some are planned, others are spontaneous. All are
a great way to connect with and meet new people.
